Continuing with this blog series I thought I'd talk about another period of the day that sometimes doesn't get much of a mention, a pre-ceremony drink! Mel & Scott's wedding was across the border in Derbyshire, and this time I was second shooting for my friend and fellow wedding photographer Cathy. Cathy was covering the Bridal Prep, and I was asked to meet Scott and his Ushers at The Wheel Inn in Ticknal. One of the many things I love about the early part of a wedding day, is the feel good factor, everyone is buzzing before 'showtime'. So what do I love about this photo?

I think you get a real sense of this feel good factor. Scott and his Ushers are looking relaxed, they are also looking great in their formal wear. I like how the interior of the pub gives further depth to the image. A simple, yet effective, photograph which records a short period of the wedding day. And after all, this is exactly what wedding photography is, a record of the day. Shot in my preferred style of documentary photography, discreet and unobtrusive.

I hope you enjoyed this week's short post, next time will be another image from the same wedding. If you would like to see further photos, or meet me in person at my office, then send me a message using the button below or via the contact page of this website. Have a great week everyone. Martin.
