Why I Like This Photograph No.1 - Warwickshire Wedding Photography

Like most people, I love going through old photographs. They can be such powerful things especially when they remind you of emotional events, for example weddings. So I thought I'd start a new blog series called 'Why I Like This Photograph'. A quick dive into the archive was a fun experience, and to be honest I found it really hard to just pick one image. However in the end I went for this one taken during Caroline and Jim's wedding. So what do I like about this image?
This was taken during their receiving line. It's a great opportunity for a Bride and Groom to say hello to their guests if they haven't yet had the chance. I love how this image shows Caroline's, and her page boy's, expressions. They are connected with eye contact, and also Caroline's hand on his arm. This image for me has everlasting qualities. The page boy continues to grow up, as we all do, which means he will now look different. Of course Caroline looks beautiful on her wedding day. I remember making an invisible high five to myself as I took this shot, knowing that no-one else would've seen or captured this special moment. This just about sums up my preferred style of wedding photography - discreet and unobtrusive.
