Hi everybody, and welcome back to the 'Why I Like This Photograph' blog series, where I look back at some of my wedding photographs from last year and share them with you. Last year Kate & Matt had a small and intimate wedding and celebrations, attended by friends and family. As was normal for intimate weddings, not everybody attended the wedding service, held at Warwick Registry Office, so when they arrived at their venue there was plenty of people for them to catch up with. This image I captured standing away from them to give them some privacy and space.

Why do I like the image? I think it is one of those priceless photos that will be cherished for a long time to come. The love, closeness and joy between Kate & Matt and their elderly guest is clear to see - enough to make your heart melt. Of course, a formal photo of the three of them stood together looking at camera would also be a good 'record' photo, however I believe moments like this gives the image more impact. Photographed in the way that I prefer to shoot, discreetly and unobtrusively, capturing those natural looking moments. Please come back soon for another in this series. Martin.
