Last week I visited another photography tradeshow, this time at Donnington Park near Derby. There were a few reasons. I wanted to catch up with my friend and fellow wedding photographer Cathy. Sometimes we get to shoot together at weddings which is always fun, but sadly there is no spare time to have a chat on such occasions. So the show last Tuesday was the perfect opportunity to chew the fat and have a right old natter. I also wanted to poke and prod loads of different wedding albums, to help with my business and offerings to couples. Plus I was hoping to bump into and chat with other West Midlands Wedding Photographers. But there was also another reason for going. This tradeshow offers seminars by all sorts of industry-leading types, and it's always nice being open to new ideas and benefit from other people's advice. One chap that I listened to at Donnington Park knows a thing or two about social media, and he did a few minutes on Pinterest. One thing I picked up on was his recommendation of having a 'wedding flowers and bouquet' board. I thought to myself "That's not a daft idea". Sure enough the very next day I went through a few weddings from the last year, and picked a bouquet and pinged it across on to my new Pinterest board. But why do such a thing?

Let's face it, there is so much choice out there for wedding bouquets and flowers. Almost overwhelming in fact. Some Brides will have a pretty good idea of what they would like, others don't. Florists can of course give advice, as can various members of your family and also friends. But sometimes, looking through photos can help with what you may or may not want.

This was exactly what Donal was saying during his seminar. Many many people are using Pinterest for ideas and inspiration, especially planning for their weddings. So this will be something else on the things to do list, after each wedding, post an image of the Bride's bouquet on Pinterest. But why deny people these images if they don't use Pinterest? So I thought this would be a great excuse to show you some images of gorgeous flowers on the blog. So here are a few more.

This is in fact a button bouquet, made of buttons (!) handmade by Sarah for her wedding last September.
