The main responsibility of a wedding photographer is to record the wedding day. Hope that doesn't sound as though I'm stating the obvious, but it's true. Photography is there to capture the emotions, the special moments and any requests by the couple. There is so much that is involved in planning a wedding, and I'm guessing that you might be reading this blog post because you are thinking about booking your wedding photographer. The list of things to organise is huge. Take the images for this post for example, they were captured in the wedding breakfast room at the fabulous Nuthurst Grange Country Hotel in Warwickshire. Imagine what was needed to plan for this?

The amount of thought, and attention to detail is very impressive. The flowers, table dressings, colour theme, the table and room layout, seating plan, wedding cake, lighting - the list goes on. The amount of effort that the couple, and their helpers, would've put into decorating this room was significant. This is why as a wedding photographer, I will do my best to capture the room before the wedding breakfast starts.

The wedding day goes by so quickly, and it's even possible that the Bride and Groom miss out on seeing the room before their guests start filing in. This is of course understandable, but also a shame, so again if I can capture everything then this should soften the blow of not seeing it in real life in its pristine condition.

Even if the couple, and close relatives get a chance to take a glimpse, then over time memories can fade as well, so at least the images will help them relive their planning and this particular part of their wedding day.

Certain items in the room may be symbolic to individual people or an event. Other items may have been a gift by a member of family or some friends. These are very important reasons to have a record. Or perhaps, this is just purely an opportunity for the couple to show their artistic flair with decorating their wedding breakfast room just how they want to. And why not.

Doesn't this look amazing, just like a magazine article, am loving the details here. Memories do fade over time, so wouldn't it look amazing in your wedding album if you had a couple of double page spreads of how awesome your room looked before people flow in and have a delicious meal and listen to the speeches.

I'm very lucky that each year I get to see many wedding breakfast rooms fully decorated, and then design an album and see the finished article in person. It's a great experience, and I hope other people feel the same way as well. If you would like to see some sample wedding albums please let me know via the contact page on this website. Martin.
