A couple of weeks ago I spoke about covering Stuart (the Groom)'s preparations click here for the link. For this week's article I thought it important to have equality and show a recent Bridal prep from last month, of Fiona at her hairdressers. Sometimes a hairdresser comes to the house where the Bridal party are getting ready, and at other times the party goes to the salon.

This is a really fun option in many ways, it can add an extra chapter into the day. The salon will mostly be booked out as exclusive use to the party, which can provide a very bonding experience for the group.

Fiona received a delivery of flowers from her Husband to be.
Major brownie points were earnt.

As an outsider to the Bridal party, it is easy for me to blend into the background and capture the Bride, Bridesmaids and other relatives having fun. Plenty of images can be made in a discreet and unobtrusive fashion, just the way I love to shoot.

Sometimes I'd venture outside the salon, and see what it would look like to a passer-by looking in.

Looking through a gap in between some posters.

It's a great opportunity for me to make sure that I've captured everybody in the salon, which can sometimes be tricky in the confines of a house. Plus, those hairdressers know how to light their salons well, another advantage.

As you can see it was a very relaxed and fun experience for all those involved. A perfect way to start the wedding day, before all the official important stuff!

Fiona & Thomas's wedding day flew by, and I shall try to put together another blog post about their day in a few weeks time. In the meantime here is a photo I captured of them cutting their cake later that evening at the Heart of England wedding venue.

Feel free to share away on social media. If you are looking for a wedding photographer, or have questions, please contact me via email or mobile. Details can be found on the contact page of this website. Dates are filling up fast, especially for next year, after my weekends at the huge wedding shows at the NEC and Stoneleigh Park this autumn.
