September 2017

All of a sudden the end of September has come round quickly, which means it's time for the 'National Wedding Show' at the NEC in Birmingham. A few months ago I took the plunge and booked a display area for the show after much deliberation. This type of show is very different to those that I've displayed at before, and had heard many positive things about. So actually signing up seemed to be a natural evolution. The one thing that is different about this is that you display in an area, rather than on a table which is more common.

The set-up period was this afternoon, before the doors open to the public tomorrow morning. I felt like a new boy at school, but within seconds the nerves soon calmed down and I tried to work some magic on my patch. After a couple of hours, the display was mostly finished other than the odd finishing touches that I can do first thing tomorrow.

The organisers of the event are predicting more than 16,000 visitors over the three days, that's a mind blowing prospect. With that in mind, I'm really looking forward to meeting new people and hearing all about their wedding plans. Fingers crossed I'll meet lots of other wedding suppliers as well.

If anyone reading this post is coming to the show, please come by and say a cheeky hello - stand D65. Oh, needless to say there will be (fingers crossed) many enquiries, so dates for next year and 2019 will continue to fill up. Don't forget you can follow on Facebook, Twitter and Google+ by clicking on the social media buttons. I update Facebook more frequently than this blog post by the way. Have a great weekend, and I'll see you on the other side of the NEC 'National Wedding Show'. Martin.
