Snuggle Corner

Last month saw me shoot a wedding over the Warwickshire border in Worcestershire, at a unique venue called Woodlands B&B in Alvechurch. I first met Sarah and James at a fayre where I was displaying alongside other Wedding Photographers from Warwickshire. I remember when I first met Sarah and James, they were really excited to have found this location to hold their celebrations. Although this house is in itself really very nice, it may have been the extensive grounds that swung the decision for them to book it. You see Sarah and James had a certain day planned, a Humanist Ceremony held outdoors with a lovely view, in glorious weather of course. Their wedding date was set for early September, and like many couples they were hoping for nice weather and to avoid any rain. This is of course outside of anyone's control. The day before the wedding I went to scout Woodlands and meet up with Sarah and James who were putting the finishing touches to the marquee. Guess what the weather was doing? Yep, plopping it down! However, we knew the forecast was looking positive for the next day. Thankfully waking up the next morning confirmed the forecast, bright September sunshine in its full glory.

The theme for Sarah and James's wedding day was a mixture of a vintage and music festival feel. They wanted to create a relaxed atmosphere for their families and friends to celebrate their day. Being a 'Sneak Peek' blog post, here are just a handful of images starting with Sarah's Bridal Prep.

A 'Hay Bale' delivery cutting it a bit fine !?!

Father of the Bride's first glimpse of Sarah.

Entrance of the Bride

What to capture during the entrance of the Bride? I opted for the 'Groom looking over his shoulder' glimpse, knowing that everyone else would have the Bride covered! Did James look over his shoulder? Nope, DOH !?!

It takes a while for your eyes to latch onto something in focus, then you find Sarah, just.

Second dance.

The 'First Dance' was to an acoustic Foo Fighters song, the second dance was 'Oops Up Side Your Head' by The Gap Band, courtesy of the DJ. Random, very random indeed.Last week I received an email from the new Mrs Swords, which included a testimonial and it goes like this:

"We couldn't have wished for a better photographer for our wedding. We first met Martin at a Wedding Fayre where we were discussing the weather and not his work. We knew instantly that his laid back approach would be perfect for our wedding. He listened to everything that we wanted and everything was as we imagined. Our guests all really liked him as he didn't hassle us, just happily snapped away without people knowing. Our images are absolutely stunning and everything we could have hoped for, and more............I couldn't recommend or thank Martin enough and we hope to see him again in the future."

Wow, how cool is that? I'm officially blushing. It was an amazing day, and I'm convinced one that everybody will remember for a long time. It was a real privilege to be able to shoot their wedding.
