This week direct from Leamington Spa, I'd thought I'd use this blog page as an insight into how as a wedding photographer, I look for different styles of images during the course of a shooting day. Quite often I post articles on here about wedding days, 'Get to know you shoots' or other wedding related subjects. This week-long series is a change from the norm, and will hopefully display how some professional photographers think differently to the Uncle Bob's who offer to cover a wedding day. So with that in mind, let's look at reflections.

Reflections

Shooting reflections can sometimes play with the viewer's mind. I remember a few months ago a couple came round to my office, and the Bride to be mentioned this image and said it took her a while to get it. I'm not surprised. Basically the image of the couple and Bullseye their dog was taken on their 'Get to know you shoot'. They feature in the reflection on the side of a very shiny painted narrow boat on a canal. I'm not suggesting that this image should win an award, far from it, but there is more to it than you realise. Chris used to own a narrow boat, and for a while lived on it. So canals and canal boats have been an important part of his life. So this was quite a nice image to have in their collection before their wedding. Speaking of their wedding, tomorrow I shall post the second article in this mini series of reflections, which was also taken on their wedding day.
