The Lord Leycester Hospital in Warwick is another fantastic example of intriguing wedding venues in Warwickshire. Contrary to the name, the Lord Leycester isn't, and never has been a hospital! It is in fact a retirement home for ex-Servicemen in Warwick. It is a Grade 1 listed building that offers quite a unique environment for your wedding service and celebrations, and of course looks sublime in your wedding photography.
Located in the heart of the medieval town of Warwick, the Hospital comprises the Chapel of St. James the Great, a Guildhall, a Great Hall, a Master's (Hidden) Garden and the courtyard which are all available for your wedding.
The Lord Leycester Hospital is licensed to perform civil ceremonies, which are located either in the 600 year old timber framed Guildhall, or the Great Hall. The latter is also used for the wedding breakfast and evening celebrations. The drinks reception can take place either in the courtyard or in the Guildhall depending on the weather.
After the ceremony, wedding photographs can be taken in the courtyard, or in the picturesque Master's (Hidden) Garden.
The Lord Leycester, as it is commonly known, has origins dating back to the 12th Century. It has been gradually extended over this centuries which adds to this exclusive venue. Warwick is easily accessible by the motorway network, with the M40, M42 and M6 closeby. Warwick has two railway stations, and is only a few miles away from Birmingham International Airport for those guests who come from abroad.
The Lord Leycester Hospital is an incredible wedding venue that you and your guests are sure to enjoy both on the wedding day, and for many years to come. It is a venue that will look absolutely fantastic in your wedding photographs.
