Yesterday's photograph in the 'Image of the Day' blog post series was an almost informal Bride and Groom 'formal', if that makes sense! Today's selection is much more of a reportage style, ie captured when people weren't either posing or expecting a photograph to be taken. In reality, this is what most of my shooting will be as a wedding photographer, ie staying in the background and keeping out of the way. Today's wedding features Anna and Marc, and was celebrated at Stapleford Park near Melton Mowbray in Leicstershire. And the image is a little, how do I say this, a bit of a curve ball.

Background - The wedding service for Anna and Marc took place in the Orangery at Stapleford Park. Orangerys are fabulous places to host a service in terms of available natural light. Natural light can be of great quality, compared to artificial lighting. I was second shooting at this wedding, and was positioned at the back of the Orangery. It was a sunny day, and I noticed a slightly unusual sight.

So why do I like this image? It plays with your mind a little bit, and not something you see that often. Firstly, apologies if you expecting to see the Bride and Groom pin sharp and in focus, don't worry there were plenty in focus. Check out the reflection in the window, how cool is that? I love the composition where you have Anna mid service, which places the image, and how you see the reflection of friends and family. It is nice to grab photos of guests, especially when they aren't expecting it, sometimes this can be tricky because many are understandbly camera shy.
