Coombe Abbey, near Coventry, is one of Warwickshire's finest wedding venues. It is a luxurious and historic four star hotel, and a Grade 1 listed building that is unique. Built in the 12th Century, the architecture and grounds are out of this world and will look fantastic in your wedding photographs. Coombe Abbey is licensed for civil ceremonies and is the perfect venue to help you and your guests celebrate your wedding in style. This venue is a real favourite for wedding photographers.

Originally a 12th Century Cistercian Abbey, the building had a very quiet life for four hundred years. Then came the 'Dissolution of Monasteries' in the 16th Century. Over the following centuries, ownership changed hands many times, however it always remained one of the county's premier buildings due to several upgrades and redevelopments. In 1964 Coombe Abbey with 150 acres of land was bought by Coventry City Council, and was opened to the public in 1966. 'No Ordinary Hotels', the current owners, then bought the Abbey in 1992.
There are a choice of rooms to host a wedding and celebrations depending on the size of the wedding party. You can have a small intimate wedding hosting between 10 to 40 people, or select a larger room that caters up to 120 guests. Or even a marquee that holds up to 350 people. Whatever the size of your group, you and your guests will experience a day that they will remember for many years to come.

Coombe Abbey is set inside 500 acres of parkland, and also has some beautiful gardens with a stunning water feature called Coombe Pool. The back terraced area is an idyllic spot to host an outdoors drinks reception. There is plenty of space on the terrace for your guests to mingle, with an amazing view across the gardens and even Coombe Pool that runs through the grounds. This area almost feels as though you are on a film set for some period drama, but in fact this is reality and not a film set at all. Everywhere you look in the grounds of the hotel, is a picturesque scene. Perfect for your wedding photographs.

Coombe Abbey has a few wedding fayres every year, and invites engaged couples to see what can be offered. Over the years it has been a very popular wedding venue with couples having their wedding ceremonies, and especially their wedding celebrations at this magnificent site. Located in-between Coventry and Brinklow, it is conveniently served by access routes, including the M6, M69, M1 and M40 are all nearby. The nearest airport is Birmingham International Airport for guests who are travelling from further away. The closest major rail station is in the city centre of Coventry.
My most recent wedding that I've captured was with Emma & Melvin. Their wedding was held in late September, the weather was fantastic with wall to wall sunshine, finishing with a stunning sunset that we made the most of. To browse some images from their wedding day, please click on this link.
