An Informal Formal Group Photo

Following on from last week's blog post featuring Kate & George, I thought I'd quickly share with you another photo from their recent wedding. It was late in the evening at Shustoke Barn in Warwickshire, and all of the important duties had been performed by everybody, ie formal photos, speeches had passed and the wedding breakfast had been enjoyed. It is at this stage of the day that everybody is relaxed and really enjoying themselves. As a wedding photographer, this can be a time when you can observe and capture some interesting shots. Darren and I were shooting together, and said to people that if they wanted a shot just come and find us and we'd happily oblige.
Sure enough, a guest came and asked me to pop outside to grab a quick group photo. Kate, the Bride, wanted a shot with her friends. No problem of course. We got the group organised, I took a few shots and checked to make sure everything looked good. As soon as I gave the thumbs up, a guest at the end of the group shouted out 'group selfie' to everyone. Whilst she was getting sorted with her phone, I quickly changed position out to the side and tried to grab a similar shot. Far from a traditional group photo of course, but I rather like it. It's just one of many fun moments during a wedding day.
We are well into the wedding season now, and it's all going really well. A couple of days ago I photographed an Indian wedding with Cathy over in Leicestershire. It seemed appropriate that we had Indian weather to go along with all of the colourful outfits, what a scorcher! It was an amazing day, and I can't wait to show you some of the images in a couple of months time. Have a great week everybody, I hope you are enjoying (or surviving) the current heatwave! Martin.
