Day four in this week's 'Image of the Day' blog post series comes from Chatsworth House in Derbyshire. Last summer I was invited by Cathy of Oehlers Photography to assist at Lucie and Luke's wedding. Although I had already been to Chatsworth a few times as a visitor, and I had never shot there before, so this was a real treat. It didn't take long to drive up from the West Midlands, and enter into the gorgeous Derbyshire countryside.

Background - To cut a long story short, when there is more than one photographer covering a wedding, they can be placed in different positions throughout the day, especially during the wedding service. This enables different viewpoints to help tell a story. At Lucie and Luke's wedding, I was positioned at the back of the wedding ceremony room. When everybody including the Groom were inside the ceremony room, and Lucie had completed her pre-wedding chat with the registrars, it was time for her to make an appearance. The entrance doors were 'guarded' by a couple of Luke's groomsmen.

So why do I like this image? I absolutely love Lucie's expression. Does it show nerves, anticipation, or delight? I'll let you decide. I also like how she has eye contact with the groomsman, and vica versa. Someone viewing this image seperately would possibly think it was a bit dull. However put into context as part of a collection of photos that show the build-up to the service, the entrance, and the start of the service, I believe it tells a nice story. On a personal note, not that this important at all, I was delighted that I got the shot. The reason being, there was very little time for the camera to fix focus whilst Lucie and her Father walked into that narrow gap and then disappear behind the groomsman.
